1930. St James' RC Infant school, Ellor Street, Pendleton, Salford.

Peter Leo Johnstone has his head on the letter C!
(Standing 3rd from the left).

Bernard Johnstone recently told me that he and Peter had left St James' Salford and moved to St Mary's Swinton for a short while. They had an awful time at St Mary's. They were bullied by the pupils and teachers alike.

He recalled one teacher saying to them ''Don't come here with your Salford ways!'' Both Peter and Bernard were delighted when they later returned to St James.
