Thomas Guilfoyle born c1820 Tipperary, Ireland.

Thomas Guilfoyle C.1820 - 1878 is my Great-Great-Grandfather.
He was born in Tipperary around 1820. Family tradition says that he had a Spanish grandparent named Urello (Urell). He married Ellen Boylan in the church of St Nicholas of Myra Without on Francis Street, Dublin on 30 January 1843. His first child was Michael Guilfoyle born 1840. (possibly to an earlier wife) his other children were: Ann (Annie) 1846, Catherine (Kate) 1848 were both born in Dublin.

Thomas and his family moved to Manchester, England where his daughter Ellen was born 1850. His daughters Mary (Polly) 1854, Theresa 1858, and Elizabeth 1860 were all born in Manchester. Thomas was a journeyman coach-painter and worked on railway coaches in Manchester. A man of means, he had all his daughters trained as schoolteachers except for Theresa, a seamstress.

Thomas died on 06 March 1878 aged 58 years. He buried in St Joseph's RC cemetery Moston, Manchester, along with his wife Ellen, daughter Elzabeth and Mother-in-law Ann Boylan (nee Anderson).
